Gold Medal

Mason recently competed in a sleeping contest and took 1st place!

The other competitors (mom and dad) never stood a chance.

A new world record (in our house anyway) has been set for:

Highest consecutive number of hours slept

13.5 hours!

Even though I didn't get to sleep for 13.5 hours straight, I still felt like a winner the next day. :)

Here Comes Santa Clause

On Saturday, we got together with some great friends for the 29th Annual Pancake breakfast in our historic, downtown area. It was a fun morning with yummy food!

Mason ate his weight in pancakes and baked apples.

He was LOVING it and having a great time!

That is until.....

The morning ended with this...

Mason is 9 months old and taking the world (er...house) by storm.

He LOVES to play with his toys and now that he can sit up for long periods of time, he plays and plays and plays and plays. He is so cute with his little head bent over a toy as he tries to figure out how to turn a part or get the toy to play some music.

"Real" food that he has had:
Egg yolks
Pancakes
Waffles
Mashed potatoes & gravy
Sweet potatoes
Green beans

He has tried pretty much all the baby food out there and is eating stage 2 and stage 3 foods.

He is starting to get 2 more teeth on top for a total of 6 teeth. He isn't fussy at all when he is teething and I never know that a new tooth is coming in until I see it poking through his gum.

8 Months and on Vacation

Mason and I spent almost the entire month of October in Utah which meant that Mason (or the Masonator as Jerry's family has nicknamed him) turned 8 months old while on vacation.

We had a great time in Utah. While there, we were sealed as a family in the Logan, Utah temple. It was a special day for our family and was a wonderful experience.

Mason was dressed in a cute, white tuxedo complete with bow tie and cumberbon.

I now realized we didn't get any good pictures showing his cute tux off. It was so cold outside, we rushed the pictures a little bit.
What was the deal with my hair on that day?! ARGH! Anyway...

Mason and I returned home to Jerry in time for Halloween. Mason was Puff the Dragon and was able to go trick-or-treating to about 5 houses before he was ready to go to bed. He did score some pretty yummy candy which I offered to eat for him. :)

8 month milestones:

Able to sit up really well. One day, it really clicked with him and he went from being a webble wobble to sitting and playing for long periods of time.

Eating stage 2 baby food and oatmeal cereal.
Still preferred vegetables over fruit but I did get him to like my sister's homemade applesauce.

Saw his first snow.

Took his 4th airplane flight and had fun spilling a large and very full glass of ice water all over mom's jeans (which remained wet for many, many, long hours).

Supervised the adults while they raked leaves:

This blog is....

a little bit behind...

and that's an understatement!

Big, Exciting News!

I realized last night as I was laying in bed,
(I do a lot of my thinking when I am in bed, btw)

Even though I had shouted it from the roof tops, sent texts and called all our family and friends,

I never announced on our blog that:

Our adoption was legally finalized on September 15!

7 Months!

Mason is a happy, healthy, heavy

7 month old!

Mason LOVES his dad. Jerry gets the biggest smiles from Mason.
Mason gets so excited when Jerry comes home from work.
He starts giggling and kicking his legs and can't wait to be held by his dad. :)

Still puts on a serious expression whenever he sees me with the camera.

Milestones:

Eating solid food 2 times a day

Sits without support

Stands holding on to someone

Looks for a dropped toy

Leans entire body to try and reach a toy

Likes to sleep on his side

Will no longer roll from his stomach to his back. Just lays there and cries until someone saves him by rolling him over. Slightly annoying in the middle of the night. :)

Loves to jump. Jump. Jump. The boy can NOT get enough jumping.

Smiles and flirts with any and all adoring fans.
